We're always glad to meet future Guides. Openings vary through the year.

Coral Springs, Florida · Learners ages 5–18 · Four studios

Not a traditional classroom. Not a passive role.

You are not here to stand at a board and talk. You protect a learner-driven studio where young people own the journey.

At Acton, learners set their own goals, manage their work, solve problems, and hold one another accountable. A Guide's job is to create and protect the environment where that becomes possible: ask powerful questions, challenge assumptions, run real discussions, and help learners connect their decisions with their results.

The goal is not to make learners dependent on exceptional adults. It's to help them become more capable, confident, and independent. Guiding takes patience, courage, creativity, sound judgment, and a willingness to let young people do hard things. We're one of more than 300 Acton Academies in 30 countries. What does a Guide actually do?

Inspire curiosity

Launch Socratic discussions that build critical thinking, reflection, and respectful disagreement.

Build the tribe

Cultivate trust, collaboration, and a studio culture where learners support and challenge one another.

Raise the standard

Help learners pursue excellence, honor their commitments, and take pride in work that meets a real bar.

Coach ownership

Support learners as they set goals, track progress, overcome obstacles, and own their choices.

Protect the environment

Hold clear boundaries and accountability while learners exercise real independence.

Keep growing

Seek feedback, build new skills, reflect on your own performance, and model the lifelong learning we ask of every learner.

Who thrives at Acton?

The Guides who thrive here hold themselves to the same standard they hold learners to.

Some taught in traditional or Montessori classrooms. Others built businesses, coached teams, led youth programs, or pursued creative careers. We're less interested in your résumé than in your character, and we ask every Guide to live the same six values we ask of learners.

Own Your Journey

You take responsibility for your results, welcome feedback, and work to improve rather than make excuses.

Choose Courage

You are willing to have difficult conversations, uphold expectations, and make thoughtful decisions even when it's uncomfortable.

Earn Your Freedom

You demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently while honoring your commitments.

Build the Tribe

You develop authentic relationships, contribute to the team, and care deeply about the people around you.

Raise the Standard

You believe excellence matters and are willing to model the effort, discipline, and attention required to achieve it.

Live with Purpose

You want your work to mean something. You're motivated by helping young people discover their gifts, build character, and contribute to the world.

In return, you can expect work that means something, coaching and honest feedback as you learn the craft, and more responsibility as you earn it. We're not looking for perfect people. We're looking for people committed to becoming better.

Is Acton right for you?

Acton isn't for everyone, and that's okay. If you love being the expert who delivers the lesson and has the answer, a traditional classroom may feel more natural. If you'd rather ask the question, give honest feedback, and let a young person build their own capability, guiding may be an extraordinary fit.

You don't need to arrive knowing everything about Acton. You do need to arrive ready to learn.

Your Hero's Journey doesn't stop with the learners.

Advancement is earned. Each step is a wider circle of responsibility, not a prize for time served.

Base pay

We believe responsibility, leadership, and impact should be recognized.

Our compensation structure reflects increasing levels of contribution and responsibility. Advancement is earned, and compensation may be adjusted based on individual qualifications, performance, organizational needs, and market conditions.

Performance bonus

Eligible Guides may earn performance bonuses twice annually.

Throughout the year, feedback from learners, parents, teammates, and school leadership helps Guides reflect, improve, and raise the standard for those around them.

We recognize not simply doing the job, but helping make the entire community better.

Operating Partnership

A select few may have the opportunity to become Operating Partners and help launch or lead another Acton Academy.

Operating Partnership is not an automatic promotion or guaranteed career outcome. It's a separate opportunity considered when an exceptional leader and the right circumstances come together.

Real relationships. Real challenges. Real impact.

Every day at Acton looks a little different. You'll see learners debating ideas, building businesses, overcoming setbacks, and discovering what they're capable of. You'll also see frustration, disagreement, missed goals, and hard decisions.

Those moments matter. Guides help young people see that their choices produce results, and that different results start with different choices.

The work is demanding. The growth is real. And the chance to make a lasting difference is extraordinary.

Every great journey begins with a first step.

Our hiring process is built to help us get to know you, and to help you decide whether guiding at Acton is your next chapter.
  1. Introduce yourself

Fill in the short form below. Tell us about your background and why Acton's approach resonates with you.

  2. Explore the Acton model

If we see a potential fit, we'll invite you to learn more about our philosophy and complete a short written or practical challenge, so we can see how you think and learn.

  3. Experience the studio

When there's a suitable opening, finalists spend time in a studio: a conversation, an observation, and a practical audition with learners. Both sides should know what guiding really looks like.

Specific opportunities depend on the needs of our studios, so an introduction doesn't guarantee an interview or an immediate opening.

Could this be your next great adventure?

Tell us a little about yourself and what draws you to Acton. This is simply the beginning of a conversation, not a commitment or a lengthy formal audition.
